Since 2007 I have worked in the field of residential treatment. Throughout those years I have been able to work with some of the greatest clinicians the world over. One thing that I have noticed in my years as a clinician is that one of the most effective methods for treatment is group therapy. It is the primary method of treatment when in a treatment facility setting. It is incredibly effective and there are scores empirical studies that have proven the effectiveness of group therapy.
I have created a distinctive and effective method for group therapy that is unbelievably powerful at creating change. It cuts to the core quickly, focusing on the roots of the trauma wounds. Using a combination of evidenced based therapeutic modalities: Mind Body Bridging, Psychodrama, the work of Brené Brown, and Internal Family Systems, I create a group dynamic that is ripe for healing the deepest of emotional wounds. The Finding Strength method will enhance any treatment regimen at any facility whether it be behavioral or mental health focused.
I am currently contracted with several facilities and organizations working as frequently as weekly. I run a 1.5 – 3 hour group with up to 20 participants. This group runs on a 4-8 week cycle depending on length of stay. The feedback from these groups is nothing short of incredible. In addition, most of the facilities have their clinicians attend the groups and I also provide training for clinicians to add to their group therapy tool kit.
If you are interested in having me come to your treatment center to run groups as an “adjunct” clinician please contact me. I have worked with many different facilities and would love to add to the clinical dynamic at yours.
